12/13 Match up - Elon @ Wake Forest

This sunday the Demon Deacons are coming off a finals break to host the Elon Phoenix who are in-state rivals. After upsetting Gonzaga last saturday the Deacons are hoping to keep their momentum and come up with another win. Elon (3-6) has also just come off a conference win against Chattanooga. The Deacons lead the series 35-6 and have won the last 23 events.

Konner Tucker leaves Wake Forest

It has been confirmed today by Wake Forest head coach Dino Gaudio that the 6'4" sophomore guard Konner Tucker is leaving Wake Forest University including the basketball program. Tucker who was only averaging 2.2 points per game played in 6 out of 7 games this season. His plans for the future are still yet to be decided.

Smith about to move up on assists list

After coming close to a triple-double against Gonzaga with 8 points 9 rebounds and 8 assists, Ishmael Smith is looking to pass Randolph Childress for 5th place on the all-time assists list. Smith currently has 465 assists needing 8 more to pass Childress who is at 472.

Former Demon Deacons in the NBA

Chris Paul - After sitting out 8 games due to a bad ankle sprain, Chris Paul returned into the lineup for the Hornets December 4th where he put up a double-double with 15 assists and 16 points and also a season-high 8 steals. Last night Paul started in their game against Sacramento where he put up another double-double with 15 points and 12 assists.

Josh Howard - Tuesday night Howard returned to the Mavericks lineup and helped the Mavs win by one point against the Suns. He put up a majority of his points in the second half (16 out of 20). He also had 6 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block and assist.

Jeff Teague - Teague had most of his career highs set against the Raptors last Wednesday. He scored 13 points to go with 3 rebounds. He made 6 free throws as well as 2 three point attempts. He also played the most minutes of the season in this win.

James Johnson - The bulls have lost 3 games this week. Johnson scored 4 along with 3 boards and 2 blocks against the Cavs last friday. Had 4 points 3 rebounds and 2 blocks with an assist on saturday against the Raptors. And last night put up 3 rebounds one assist, steal, and block with no points against the Nets.

Tim Duncan - Duncan had his ninth double-double of the season with 23 points and 11 rebounds on Monday against the Jazz. He also scored 26 points against the nuggets a few days ago where he also had 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Last thursday Duncan had another double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds against Boston.

C.J. Harris

C.J. Harris was named ACC Co-Rookie of the week today. The Deacons had two tough road games in the past week, one against No. 4 Purdue where Harris scored 14 and also against No. 17 Gonzaga where Harris led the team with 19. Harris made his first career start on Saturday on the road at Gonzaga where Wake Forest won 77-75. Harris shot 5 for 8 going 2 for 3 from downtown. Harris is shooting 54 percent from the field and 52 percent from three-point. He has put up double figures in the last five games and has led the team scoring in four of them. Starting off pretty strong the Demon Deacons are looking to get their sixth win when they return from finals week against Elon on December 13th.
